You’re A Mirror I Cannot Avoid | Bad Books
You’re a mirror I cannot avoid,
Strung out and jittery and paranoid.
This morning’s playlist comes from the songs my friends and I are covering today.
We’re meeting up later and gonna play these songs:
Adam’s Song - Blink-182
Upward Over The Mountain - Iron & Wine
You’re A Mirror I Can’t Avoid - Bad Books
A Day In The Life - The Beatles
I Can Barely Breathe - Manchester Orchestra
And like the major procrastinator that i am, i’m barely learning them now so i’m listening to them over and over until i know ‘em.

Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra | Bottom of the Hill, SF on 1/16/11
Saw him the night before at the Troubadour. Best concert ever.
Crystal Meth
Last night, after the Bad Books concert was over, my friends and i went to the back of the venue where the band was most likely to exit so we could meet them. We never did meet them ‘cause they never left (we waited an hour), but during that time, some sketch dude on a bike kept peddling around and asked us if we were selling any pot. When we said no, he then asked if we wanted to buy crystal meth.
I’ll never do meth, but it’s nice to know i have it as an option from sketch bicyclists who hang around alleyways.
Bad Books Concert
Last night i went to the Bad Books concert. Gobotron opened up which i think is a side project from the guitar player from Manchester Orchestra. Kevin Devine also played with them which was cool. They were alright.
Then came Right Away, Great Captain. It was just Andy Hull with his guitar and voice. Omg. Hearing him live… he’s so good. Omg. I teared up in the very first song!! He also played a song that’s going to be on Manchester’s next album!! Here’s a lyric i remember from it:
God gives us more than our cup can hold.
Chills.
Then Bad Books came one. Let me tell you, Andy Hull is fucking hilarious. I wasn’t sure what his strange presence would be like, but him and Kevin Devine would banter a lot and it was so funny. He even sang a song about meeting 50 Cent! Really funny.
I liked Bad Books before seeing them. Now i love them. It was so amazing. And omg… they played two Manchester Orchestra songs: Now That You’re Home and Shake it Out. You won’t believe how much the crowd roared. There were only hardcore fans there and it was epic.
I realized last night that my hair is perfect for head banging. But i woke up this morning with a sore throat (‘cause of all the screaming) and a sore neck (obvious reasons).
Long story short: Andy Hull is a musical and lyrical god.
i begged you everything - bad books
i adore this song
Gonna see Bad Books tomorrow!!
