The doctor prescribed me Zoloft for depression and anxiety and they said I wouldn’t really feel anything until like 2 weeks of taking it, but I definitely feel something both good and bad. It reminds me a lot of ecstasy. And I feel kind if restless and uncomfortable. Juan says it might be because it’s trying to fix the chemical imbalance in my brain that’s causing the depression and I’m just not used to it yet which makes sense.
On a positive note, the audition with the band went really well I think. We don’t know if we got the gig yet, but even if we don’t I really like playing with them and I have a lot of fun. I actually felt happy and I dunno if it was the Zoloft or the situation, but either way I’m really glad I joined this band.
My boyfriend and I bought tickets to go see them today! They’re playing at some Congo club thing, next thursday. The tickets were so cheap omg, I can’t wait to see them! I don’t know much about Estelle, except her American boy song, but it should be really fun :)
I’m surprised they weren’t sold out since it’s next week! Like, it’s mo’fuckin’ Janelle Monae. That shit should be sold the fuck out. Maybe since it’s Estelle’s thing people are like “nah” but whatever, more Monae for us.

The thing about fantastic choreography is that it doesn’t look like the dancers are dancing to music. It looks like they’re creating it.
Azealia Banks - No Problems (prod. by Machinedrum)
You a man with your dick back
You a sam with a slick back
You a ham in the pig shack
You a scam for the kit kat
Sweater Weather | The Neighbourhood
The goosebumps start to race
The minute that my left hand meets your waist
And then I watched your face
Put my finger on your tongue
‘Cause you love to taste yeah
I’m watching a bunch of Tiny Desk Concert videos ‘cause i didn’t know that Tiny Desk Concert videos existed and this is an amazing moment for me ‘cause Tiny Desk Concert videos are what make love artists.
Friendship cease, no peace in the mind
Stealin’ and takin’ anything to fix the pieces inside
Broken, hopeless, headed no where
only motivation for what the dealer’s supplyin’
That rush, that drug, that dope
Those pills, that crumb, that roach
Thinkin’ I would never do that
Not that drug
Growin’ up nobody ever does
Until your stuck lookin’ in the mirror
like I can’t believe what I’ve become
Swore I was gonna be someone
And growin’ up everyone always does
We sell our dreams and our potential to escape through that buzz
Just keep me up, keep me up
Only Girl In The World | Ellie Goulding (cover)
‘Cause I’m only the one who understands
How to make you feel like a man
Marina and her Pokemon (or should I say…her Diamonds? fufufufufu)
Sunlight | Bag Raiders
When I see your face
It’s like sunlight dripping
I finally got around to listening to the new Bad Books album II (can’t decide if i love or hate the name). I’ve been procrastinating ‘cause i liked the first Bad Books album, but not as much as anything from Manchester Orchestra. It felt more like Kevin Devine meeting Andy Hull as opposed to Manchester Orchestra.
II sounds like they accomplished the fusion of the similar yet distinct styles of Kevin Devine and Manchester Orchestra. In other words, it’s fantastic. I love this album. It brings me back to Manchester’s Mean Everything to Nothing days which are my all time favorite days. And Kevin Devine is so cool and funny and STRANGE. His contributions (which are obvious) to II help escalate this album to a much higher pedestal than the first album.
Gonna See Grimes with the Boyfriend! :D (Taken with Instagram at El Rey Theatre)
Grimes isn’t necessarily my cup of tea, but my boyfriend really likes her so i bought tickets for our anniversary. It was actually an enjoyable concert and i the crowd had awesome energy as did Grimes and her first opening act. Even if the band isn’t someone i’m super into, the concert can still be fun depending on the performance and the energy around me, and Grimes did an excellent job. Fantastic night d^.^b
It took me three listens, but i finally came around to the new The XX album Coexist. Their minimalistic approach to music is much more refined allowing for the focus to land on the voices of the two main singers. It really was only a matter of time before i realized that this album is as brilliant as their first one.
I’d still like to see some more variety in their music, but i won’t hold it against them unless they repeat this formula with their third album.
